Whole Trust gathers for Mental Health and Well Being Training Day

Jan 31, 2019

We began 2019 by gathering all of our staff for a day of training on Mental Health and Well Being in our schools. Over 70 staff members joined together to hear from Barnardos about the support they offer in this area, to find out more about introducting Growth Mindset across the curriculum and to discuss and share ideas about how to tackle different mental health issues appropriately whatever your role in school.

The event was inspired by the Trust's headteachers who wished to give their staff members a training day that would help them think about their wider role in a child's development and learning journey. Michael Mill, Acting Chief Executive said ‘The focus on well being is not something that the Trust had chosen on a whim, it feeds into the vision and ethos that underpins the organisation as a whole and informs the fantastic work that each school does.’

Commenting on the inset day, Karen Roberts from Braithwaite CE School said:  “I found the sharing of people's experiences of mental health issues personally very moving but also liberating. I'm lucky that I work in the place I do.”
